BenRiach Importanticus Peated Malt 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky Tawny Port Wood Finish

The first nosing passes find medicinal reek; this blows off after aeration, leaving behind delightful scents of baked pear, Key lime, meringue and joss stick. Entry is intensely spirity, and almost too hot; at midpalate the flavor becomes pastry-like, malty, fruity and moderately peaty. Finishes a touch lean, nearly astringent and pleasantly smoky. P.P.
