Beresan 2010 Carmenère (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Carmenère is rarely done in Washington, and even more rarely done so well, as it is with this wine. Ripening the grape is the challenge, but in 2010 it all came together at the Seven Hills vineyard, from which this pure varietal wine is sourced. A tight spine of fresh herb leads through a dry, tannic red with dried berry flavors and espresso livening up the finish. Paul Gregutt
