Beringer 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon (Knights Valley)

Polished, with lots of flair, this well-crafted wine shows good varietal character. Cassis, olive and herb flavors are joined by smoky oak and dry, fine tannins, with lively acids. Try cellaring for a year or two. —S.H.
