Bernardus 2018 Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands)

There's a ripe, fruity and yet exuberantly fresh character to the nose of this bottling, with aromas of baked Bing cherry, alpine strawberry, hibiscus punch and wet slate. The explosive fruit pops on the palate as well, where its aggressively delicious flavors are lifted by star anise and cardamom touches. Matt Kettmann
