Beronia 2012 Gran Reserva (Rioja)

Aromas of vanilla, licorice and ripe berry fruits introduce this warm-year gran reserva. The palate is full on first take, then popping acidity pushes the flavors towards currant, tomato and red plum. The acidity drives a dry finish with plenty of oak spice. Give this lots of air and time if drinking now but it's good through 2032. Michael Schachner
