Bethel Heights 1999 Flat Block Reserve Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Editors' Choice

This has long been a top Oregon Pinot, and it shows its breeding in this tricky vintage. The nose is redolent of sweet, grapey cherries, aromatic and quite pretty. In the mouth extra dimensions emerge: fruit, mineral and earth. Balanced and tight, some additional cellaring will flesh it out and let it unwrap. Editors' Choice. —P.G. Paul Gregutt
