Sourced from own-rooted Pommard clone vines planted in 1979, this starts out with a tannic grip and pomegranate and brambly berry flavors. Its underlying, astringent minerality drives the palate forward into a buttery finish. While all Bethel Heights Pinot Noirs are ageworthy, this one will notably benefit from another year or two in bottle. Paul Gregutt
