Big Basin 2018 Altitude 2292 Red (Monterey County)

Tart aromas of blistered black plum and violet show on the nose of this blend of 57% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot from the Coastview Vineyard. The palate is fresh and sharp with tart plum skin flavors, with light herb and blackberry elements adding nuance. Matt Kettmann
