Bink 2019 Mirrors Zinfandel (Clare Valley)

Zinfandel but not as you know it! From a natural-leaning producer in the Clare Valley, this is a light-bodied, low alcohol and easy-drinking Zin. A cloudy cherry color, it tastes like freshly pressed red berries (stems and all), cinnamon bark and autumn leaves. It's lucid and appealing, with a lingering yeasty red apple note that turns tart on the palate due to a bite of skinsy tannins. A little reminiscent of cider, there's a bit of funk at the finish, but overall this is an ultrarefreshing red to drink chilled in the summer. Christina Pickard
