Birichino 2018 Saint Georges Pinot Noir (Central Coast)

There's a fascinating mix of freshness and funk on the nose of this bottling, from crisp red currants and pluots to dried, pepper-crusted meat and dusty herbs. It's lightly bodied on the palate, where earthy flavors of dried sausage and dried clay meet with lightly tart cranberry and tangy pomegranate. Matt Kettmann
