Blackstone 1998 Merlot (Napa Valley)

Good color and quite a bit of charm. Some impressive aromas of blackberry, mocha, violets and smoky oak, and similar rich, deep flavors. The tannins are soft and inviting. It misses excellence by a hair, but it's a very good wine.
