Bluenose 2004 Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)

This is a new winery to me, and it's off to a good start with this Zinfandel, which contains grapes from some 80-year-old vines and from the Rockpile appellation. It's classic Dry Creek Zin, dense, full-bodied and dry, with beautiful tannins and impressive flavors of wild blackberries, wild mountain thyme and lavender, and a bitter chocolate, coffee earthiness. At its best now.
