This is not a made-by-the-numbers Malbec: to the contrary, it's lightly herbal on the nose, with animal notes along with more standard black-fruit scents. Solid on the palate, with good flow, this tastes toasted and almost burnt, with savory black-fruit flavors. An oaky, lightly charred finish tastes of creosote and mint. Drink through 2021.
