Bodegas Leda 2000 Viñas Viejas Tempranillo (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León)

Editors' Choice

Made by Mariano Garcia, the same winemaker as Mauro, this is the third vintage of the Leda old-vine Tempranillo, and it scores big for its soy, hickory and exotic spice notes. Richness is the wine's calling card. The palate is a real berry ball, one with blackberry, raspberry and cassis. The smooth finish carries some chalky tannins, but the whole is in fine balance. Michael Schachner
