Boeckel 2018 Zotzenberg Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

Baked-pear notes on the nose of this wine are made mellower by creaminess, but there also is a heady, fresher whiff of Williams pear. These rich aromatics also feature on the smooth, rounded but fresh palate. This is sinuous and toned in terms of shape but utterly creamy and mellow in terms of fruit and texture. An appetizing off-dry combination, the wine will evolve. Drink by 2045. Anne Krebiehl MW
