Sweet-seeming aromas of baked blackberries, lilacs, fresh fennel and hot pastry show on the nose of this bottling from deep up the Carmel Valley. The palate dries up impressively, retaining the blackberry-pie touch while a strong acidity delivers flavors of cocoa dust and cola. Layered tannins keep it all together.
