Bonny Doon 2016 Grenache (Monterey County)

This blend of three properties from up and down the Central Coast (64% Rancho Solo, 24% Alta Loma and 12% Shokrian vineyards) is a bit gamy at first, but the red fruit and flower aromas emerge from the reductive veil with time. The palate offers flavors of roasted pork in a red-plum sauce, with a touch of oak. Matt Kettmann
