Bonny Doon 2016 Shokrian Vineyard Viognier (Santa Barbara County)

Tightly wound aromas of yellow flowers, lemon wedges, pear flesh, beeswax and a kiss of oak show on the nose of this bottling from the vineyard formerly known as Verna's. There is great grip to the palate, with lemon oil, sandalwood and chamomile flavors, framed by a chalky structure. It offers good cellaring potential. Matt Kettmann
