Boschendal 2012 Appellation Series Pinot Noir (Elgin)

The bouquet of this wine starts off subtle and dainty, needing time to become more expressive and reveal scents of cured meat, sweet smoke, violet and small red berries. Gamy notes are at the forefront of the medium-weight palate, with underlying flavors of red cherry and currant. A smoky, savory and spicy selection; drink now–2017. Lauren Buzzeo
