Bosquet des Papes 2017 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

This is a bold, perfumed Grenache blend that wafts of pristine, sun-kissed black cherries, garrigue and smoke. It's a big, powerfully concentrated wine packed with juicy black cherry and plum flavors but crisply concentrated and finishing on a fresh spray of crushed stone. While soft in acidity, fine-grained, gripping tannins lend structure. Appealing already in youth but should improve through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
