This leads with oak-derived aromas of sweet smoke, toast, vanilla and baking spice, immediately followed by notes of lemon custard, melon and pear flesh. The mouthfeel is round and full, but zippy acidity rescues the finish from feeling flat or overdone. An attractive toasted hazelnut flavor lingers well through the finish.
