Bouchard Finlayson 2012 Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Reserve Estate Chardonnay (Hemel en Aarde)
Winemaker: Peter Finlayson. Finlayson is known for producing world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and this selection doesn't disappoint. This is creamy and lush on the palate, but not overly flabby thanks to ample acidity and a spicy, lifted finish of almond and clove. Notes of red apple, pineapple core, mango pit, yellow flower and woody spice abound throughout, with a slick of orange oil that provides a softly sticky texture. Drink now–2018. Lauren Buzzeo
