This is a dark, dense and compelling Syrah, muscular and sleek. The deep boysenberry and blackberry fruit is set off with aromatic highlights—and flavors—of black olive, licorice and caramel. It's smooth and weighty, with beautiful balance and moderate alcohol. The extra time in bottle has helped to integrate the acids and suggests that this wine has a long life ahead.
