Boudreaux Cellars 2006 Champoux & Loess Vineyards Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Washington)

Tight when first opened, with polished fruit flavors of blackberry and cassis, mingling with barrel accents of anise and clove. The alcohol, listed at 13.5%, does not indicate the weight and power of the wine. One caveat—there is a chalky aftertaste from the combination of very dry tannins and citrusy acids. Paul Gregutt
