The estate-grown grapes put a pretty emphasis on bright cherry fruit, which anchors the wine. Still young, its earthy tannins could use a bit more bottle age. Herbal highlights include touches of basil and other Italian herbs, along with a whiff of forest mushrooms. The barrel aging contributes a finishing note of ground espresso. Paul Gregutt
