Brotherhood 2014 1839 Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles)

From an New York operation located in the Hudson Valley that bills itself as the oldest continuously operating winery in the country, this bottling shows baked cherries, blackberries, molasses and anise on the nose. It's rounded and rich on the palate, where charred red fruits meet with cocoa atop a decently structured texture. Matt Kettmann
