This historic winery's Cab rates high in the bang for buck category. The nose is a deep well of aromas: plum, red currant, cedar, charred beet, iodine and graphite, with bundles of spice. The palate shows Cabernet's power but with restraint and elegance. Dusty, spicy tannins weave through flavors of spice and cigar box, lifted by juicy fruit. A quintessential South Aussie Cabernet drinking beautifully after eight years of bottle age. Christina Pickard
