Bruno Nicodemi 1998 Colline Teramane Riserva Montepulciano (Abruzzo)

Saturated and inky, with smoky, rustic notes that go green with airing. The palate kicks at first, delivering berry and plum fruit. But the flavors fade as the wine opens. What's left is a touch of green and a lack of persistence. Still, with a toasty, warm finish, it's quite adequate. Michael Schachner
