Buckel Family Wine 2017 Cinsault (Colorado)

Pale, transparent cherry red in the glass. Foraged raspberry and cherry form the base for wild and spicy tones, blending together to create an effusive and exciting aroma. The palate captures and refines the uninhibited quality of the nose containing ripe and bright cherry, strawberry, cranberry and raspberry with tendrils of light spice and forest tones. The acidity is bouncy rather than tart. Powdery tannins add structure and depth, keeping this from becoming a one-dimensional fruit bomb—it's a charming wine to be taken seriously. The finish leans on spice and chalky tannins, with tart cranberry flavors shining bright. Fiona Adams
