Butterworth 2017 Layline Pinot Noir (Martinborough)

There's a sulfuric pungency to this Pinot that seems built into its structure, although aeration in glass reveals more primary red-fruit, floral and spice aromas. The palate is medium weight but richly textured and round in shape, lifted by a crunch of acidity and framed by chalky, spice-filled tannins. Christina Pickard
