Red-berry, rose, tobacco and tilled soil aromas rise out of the glass on this 100% Nebbiolo from Alto Piemonte. It's still youthfully austere, offering dried Marasca cherry, orange zest and licorice alongside a backbone of assertive, fine-grained tannins. Give the tannins a few more years to unclench then drink to capture the remaining fruit. Kerin O’Keefe
