Decadent aromas of black cherry, red plum and chocolate waft out of the glass, further complemented by flavors of fresh soil, nutmeg, clove, toasted oak and a hint of leather on the palate. Tannins are grippy, chalky in texture, but a welcome presence, creating structural integrity without overwhelming the vibrancy or decadence of the wine. The lingering finish continues to incorporate each component and invites another sip. Stacy Briscoe
