Cairdeas 2011 Gréine Syrah-Petite Sirah (Columbia Valley (WA))

Gréine is a blend of Syrah and Petite Sirah, with a splash of Viognier. Earthy and herbal, it shows little sign of ripe fruit, and whiffs of pickle barrel come through some jarring flavors of vanilla. Perhaps more bottle time will help to knit this wine together. Paul Gregutt
