Cairdeas 2017 Consonance Red (Yakima Valley)

Editors' Choice

Petit Sirah makes up 38% of this wine, followed by Syrah (37%), Mourvèdre (13%) and Alicante Bouchet (12%). Heaping amounts of black pepper are the opening hand of the aromas, followed by notes of plum, blue fruit, ground granite and whiffs of smoke. Beautifully balanced fruit flavors follow, with the black-pepper-filled finish sailing off into the distance. Sean P. Sullivan
