Golden straw color. Sea breeze/briny nose comes right at you in the opening sniffings; aeration releases pungent notes of dill, fennel and dry malt. Palate entry is marked with aggressive tastes of tobacco leaf, cigarette smoke, brine and wood resin; by midpalate, there's a slight settling down of the flavor profile as calmer tastes of cocoa, vanilla and maple make for sweet and pleasant sipping. Finish is raw, sweet and aggressive. The potential is there, but this malt simply isn't ready to be consumed yet.
