Campbells NV Muscat (Rutherglen)

Made in the typical, historic Rutherglen style from an equally historic producer, this wine originates in a modified solera system of young (average five years) wines. The resulting marmalade-hued wine is intensely rich and sweet. It offers notes of citrus peel, raisin and caramel amidst a luscious mouthfeel. Borderline syrupy, it would be cloying if not for the refreshing bite of orange rind at the finish. Salty cheese is a requirement here. Christina Pickard
