This is a fine example of Red Mountain's ability to produce Cabernet Sauvignon fruit of the highest quality. When said fruit is placed in the hands of a skilled winemaker, greatness happens. Aromatically, this wine is like catching a sniff of a freshly baked blackberry and peach cobbler as it cools on the kitchen counter. Tiny notes of pomegranate, graphite and a waxy crayon (likely violet-red if you have a strong imagination) join the aromatic party. The wine's sappy texture and smooth tannins go hand-in-hand with flavors like crushed blueberries, 70% cacao dark chocolate and a mildly bitter, earthy black-walnut note. Michael Alberty
