This blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir has Old World roots, but there is clearly a lot of New World potential. Fresh aromas of violet, geranium and boysenberry sorbet are penetrating on the nose. The palate's sizzling acidity slices through black raspberry, rose petal and peppercorn flavors, bolstered by a lingering wet-stone minerality. Matt Kettmann
