At first, the wine's aggressively oaky aromas and flavors keep the fruit flavors down low. There is a mix of the standard apple and tree fruits, and the overall mouthfeel is big and chunky. But that blocky, assertive oak, though it may please some palates, takes away any nuances. Paul Gregutt
