Take a deep whiff and you'll find black pepper and brambleberry duking it out with an odd, not entirely positive perfumed note. But the wine improves with airing, offering strawberry and raspberry fruit and a full allotment of herbs. It comes on strong in the finish, all the while maintaining an edge.
