Casa Dumetz 2019 Spear Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills)

Lovely and lively aromas of strawberry, hibiscus, sage and creek mud show on the nose of this bottling from one of the appellation's newer plantings. The wine hits the palate with decent weight then brightens up on snappy currant, spicy peppercorn, bitter orange-rind and herbal eucalyptus flavors. The acid is fierce. Matt Kettmann
