Casanel 2016 Estate Carmenère (Middleburg)

Black fruits blend with green and black pepper aromas on the nose. Savory and tart on the palate, the acidity is angular, bolstering the cranberry and cherry flavors. The tannins are dry and well mannered, much like the tobacco and leather tones leading to the red apple and peppery spice finish. Fiona Adams
