Cascina Luisin 1998 Rabaja (Barbaresco)

Hefty and earthy, with black cherry fruit, rubbing spice, creamy oak and ample horsey notes. This fairly weighty wine from Barabaresco's respected Rabajà vineyard is dark and lively on the tongue, offering deep espresso and leather accents over tart fruit. Closes with substantial, structured tannins. This will reward cellaring. Drink 2005–2012.
