Castello Banfi 1993 Poggio all'Oro Riserva (Brunello di Montalcino)

Exhibits a deep, black-cherry aroma tinged with balsam fir. Intensely concentrated but tannic, this is a wine to lay away for a few years. Opens up nicely in the glass to reveal cedary, tobacco complexities. Very promising and somewhat forward; should be ready by 2005. Joe Czerwinski
