Castello Romitorio 1999 Riserva (Brunello di Montalcino)

Surprisingly sweet but lovable just the same. The nose offers sugared doughnut and marzipan aromas yet the palate has cut-through acidity that ensures that the wine is neither flabby nor dull. Big-time cherry and plum flavors are pure and exciting; all in all there isn't much more to ask for. Imported by Selected Estates of Europe Ltd. Michael Schachner
