Castello San Sano 2011 Chianti Classico

This blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo unfolds with a lovely fragrance that recalls blue flower, dark berries and a hint of leather and balsamic herbs. The juicy palate delivers a core of ripe black cherry accented with black pepper, cinnamon and energizing mineral notes. There's not a lot of complexity, but it boasts delicious fruit and enough depth to be interesting. Golden State Wine, JD Beverage Group. Kerin O’Keefe
