Castle Rock 2013 Pinot Noir (Los Carneros)

Earthy cherry coulis and a strong scent of menthol dominate in this value-priced wine—a hard find in this varietal category. Thin on the palate, it's an easygoing quaff, light and fairly nondescript in oak and fruit, dusted in forest pine. Virginie Boone
