The nose on this wine produced by a family in Molise focusing mostly on the rarely seen native grape of Tintilia shows that they know what to do with Montepulciano as well, striking an appealing balance between sweet and savory, from crunchy red fruit to soil and leather. The palate is similarly well integrated, with chocolate, cherries and strawberries, but also wild herbs, mushrooms and dirt. Eminently drinkable. Danielle Callegari
