This wine comes from Aliança's new estate in the Douro, whose name means four winds. Made with consultant Michel Rolland, it is purple in color, with dominant aromas of new wood. To taste, it is rich, but the wood and sawdust flavors are too prominent for the spicy black fruit. This could integrate better in the next five years. —R.V.
