It's rare that such depth occurs in white dessert wines from the Central Coast, but this late-harvest blend of 63% Chenin Blanc and 37% Chardonnay is quite compelling. A golden hue in the glass, the wine's nose shows honey, toasted almond and crystallized ginger. The viscous palate offers chamomile, preserved lemon and spun honey flavors. Matt Kettmann
